What Do You Want More Of This Season?

Have you checked in with spring or autumn?

What does it mean for you?

I personally love the seasonal changes throughout the year.  I’ll admit, it wasn’t like this growing up.  Summer was all I wanted - all year round – that’s because I wanted to swim every day.

But as I have grown and experienced many situations over the years, that’s changed a bit.  I still love to swim every day if I could, but now I do love both spring and autumn best.

Here at home, we’re heading into spring.  That natural quarterly check-in point.

🪴Where am I now?

🪴What matters to me now?

🪴What needs attention?

🪴What do I want to carry forward?  To the end of the year or beyond.

For people whose lives have changed through illness, injury, grief or a major health event, that is very relevant because sometimes their old goals, routines, identity or sense of purpose may no longer fit.

A seasonal check-in gives everyone a natural, non-pressured reason to reassess.  Because we matter.  What we put attention on, matters.

Some of the questions I run through myself are:

🌿  What is starting to wake up in you?

🌿  What has winter taught you?

🌿  What do you want to leave behind?

🌿  What needs a little more care?

🌿  What seeds do you want to plant now?

🌿  Are your current choices still aligned with what matters to you?

🌿  What would you like the rest of this year to feel like?

Spring doesn’t have to mean “get busy”.  For some of my clients, renewal might mean more rest, asking for help, rebuilding confidence, reconnecting socially, making a medical appointment, getting outside more or simply deciding what matters right now.

My motto for this year back in January, was Intention, Action and Gratitude.  So, I’ll be checking in again with myself, to see if I am still living to these values/goals — both personally and professionally.

Taking time to pause and notice can also show us what we need more of – like a little more joy.  Coming across this swing on a recent walk reminded me of that.  I laughed, enjoyed the moment and decided that more laughter, fun and simple moments of joy are something I want to intentionally carry into this next season as well.

Creating On the Pulse Health came out of left field purely because of what I have experienced in my own life.  During my cardiac event having hubby and the paramedics on hand, it was incredibly scary, but also very humbling.  It made me focus more deeply on what’s important to me, and on intentionally working towards goals while continuing to live by my values.

I honestly believe — Clarity comes when you have the space to pause and check in.

I’d love for you to carve out some time to do that for yourself.

Warmest wishes,
