When Life Changes, So Do We
There comes a point after illness, injury, or a major health event when the appointments become less frequent.
People around you assume you're getting back to normal.
But inside... nothing feels normal.
You might be asking yourself:
"What just happened?"
"Who am I now?"
"Will life ever feel like mine again?"
It's a place many people don't talk about.
The medical care may have finished, but learning to live with what has happened is only just beginning.
You might be grieving the life you thought you'd have.
You might be grieving the body you thought you’d have.
You might be grieving the work/life balance you thought you’d have.
You might be grieving the lack of family time you thought you’d have.
You might be grieving the no time for me you thought you’d have.
There are many different types of grief. This is only some of the parts.
A big part of it is energy. And when you have been through or still going through a medical event, you might be wondering what is your body capable of now?
The feeling as though everyone else's life has moved on while you're still trying to make sense of it all.
If that's where you are...
I want you to know something.
You're not alone.
I'd like to share some of what I have been learning about what happens after the diagnosis... after the surgery... after the accident... after the treatment.
Not to dwell on what's been lost.
But to discover what is still possible.
Because recovery isn't only about healing physically.
It's about rebuilding confidence.
Rediscovering purpose.
Creating new routines.
And finding hope again.
Sometimes it begins with one small choice.
One conversation.
One gentle step forward.
Life doesn't have to look the way it used to and still be meaningful.
I'd love for us to walk this journey together.
Because you don't have to navigate it on your own.
There is hope.
And most of all...
You matter.
Warmest wishes,
