When the Appointment Ends... But the Experience Doesn't

When the appointments stop… but the experience doesn’t.

There’s a moment that doesn’t get talked about enough.

When the appointments slow down, and you’re sent home to “get on with things.”

On paper, everything might look okay.
But inside… it doesn’t always feel that way.

 You can feel:

  • unsure

  • questioning whether you heard things correctly

  • overthinking symptoms

  • not knowing what’s normal anymore

  • trying to be “grateful” while still struggling

  • worrying that support is fading away

This is the part where many people can feel left in the in-between.

I’ve been in that place too — with lots of questions, but nowhere obvious to turn.

I didn’t tick all the boxes for extra help, so I found myself navigating parts of recovery alone through reading, learning, and trying to make sense of what my body was telling me.

I’m very aware of Daisy sitting inside my body.
From time to time, I feel little nudges or sensations in different places.
I also get twinges in my left shoulder — sometimes to the point of a dull ache.

Again, not everyone has this experience.
And that’s exactly why individual care matters.

That’s where prioritising myself really comes in.
The pauses.
The breathwork.
The sleep.
The rest.
The gratitude journal.

Making more informed choices today means I have a better chance of better tomorrows.

What I’ve come to understand is this:
just because something has changed, doesn’t mean you are broken.

You are still whole
even if your body feels different
even if your emotions feel messy
even if you’re still finding your way.

And this is the part that often gets overlooked.

The truth is, there’s often a gap between medical care and real life.

A space where you’re expected to just… carry on.

But that space?

That’s where support for where you’re at really matters.

Because you matter.

This is where I work alongside people.
Not to fix them…
but to support them as they reconnect with their body, rebuild confidence, and find small steady steps forward.

If you’re in that space right now…
feeling a little unsure, a little in-between…
you’re not alone.

And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.
